I started by building complete products end to end: the interface, the API, the database and the deployment. That range is still how I approach unfamiliar systems — trace the whole path before changing one layer.
Client and product work moved the focus from features to outcomes: scoped releases, migrations that do not lose data, auth that holds up, and interfaces that stay usable when the network is slow.
Today most of my time goes into the unglamorous parts: data integrity, query performance, failure states, observability and the decisions that keep a codebase understandable six months later.
Turning an ambiguous product requirement into a data model, interfaces and a delivery sequence the team can execute.
Frontend, backend, database and deployment in one loop, with fewer hand-offs and fewer places for context to disappear.
Following a symptom through logs, queries and rendering until the actual cause is found, then adding the regression test.
Written decisions, runbooks and clear boundaries, so the next engineer inherits a system rather than a mystery.
